We work hard to prevent animals from ending up in the streets or being surrendered to shelters. One way we do this is to aid pet owners. Families should not have to rid themselves of a family member simply because hard times happen. That is where WAR comes in; we work with pet parents in need of food, vaccinations, spay/neuter and other assistance. No family should EVER be forced to sign over their furbaby simply because they can’t afford an expensive vet bill. We hold true the best place for your pets is with you, and we will never ask you to sign over your pet or your rights regarding that pet simply for reaching out for help.
We work alongside several partners, to provide protection to many animals across the country. We handle disaster rescue, hoarding cases, puppy mill cases, and work to pull animals on shelter euthanasia lists out of the shelter and into safety. This part of our mission is impossible without donors and our partners.
This requires a lot of coordinating, a lot of supplies, transportation, and most important a lot of heart from all those involved.
We take in homeless animals and provide care and homes until the animal is in good health. Once they are ready they are listed for adoption. Those who have a limited time, will live out their lives with a loving foster, who is given a little extra to make their last days their best.
We do take in owner surrenders, but only if there are several open spots. We first counsel and try to work with the owners to assist with needs so that the animal can remain in their homes. Our FIRST priority when it comes to open spots are the animals who have no owner, no home, no food, they need us more.
